Q + A

What's the dress code?

Y'all, we are getting married outside in Mississippi; it's going to be hot and humid, so dress accordingly. We are recommending "Summer Semi-Formal". The wedding party will be wearing summer dresses and linen button-down shirts or slacks, so aim to dress cool. Jackets for men are strongly discouraged. (Here's some stock photos of what we're going for)

Where can I park?

Upon arrival, ushers will guide you where to park, and multiple golf carts will be running to commute guests.

Who's the Band? What are they playing?

Dat Band! (That's the name of them... Dat Band) They are a 9-piece ensemble from New Orleans, delivering a dynamic mix of hits from the '50s to today. Their repertoire includes everything from "Shout" by the Isley Brothers to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." We're pumped to have them for the wedding. (check them out here: https://datbandla.com/songs/)

How can I stay cool?

Come hydrated, and we've got you covered (literally). The wedding will be outdoors but under tree cover, and fans will be available. The reception will be fully covered with ample fan coverage. The wedding is later in the day, so it will be much cooler. Also, we'll have an AC-equipped house, right next to the venue, to accommodate anyone needed, just ask upon arrival.

Is there a backup plan for bad weather?

Yes; same location. However, both the wedding and reception will be located under the covered pavilion.

(Ladies) What kind of shoes should I wear?

Avoid heels that might sink into the grass. Opt for wedges or flats. The reception area is on stable flooring, but getting there and the ceremony venue are not.
